The Right Way to Handle a Termination

As with layoffs, it is recommended to consult with a legal advisor before terminating an employee. The following steps can be taken to begin preparing for mediation.

1. Document Poor Performance and Offenses.

The best way to track an employee’s progress or regression is to record their performance or offense throughout their tenure with the company. Sometimes this can be tricky because the frequency question needs to be answered first. Is this behavior a one-time occurrence or has it become a trend? Written documentation can be used as evidence of poor performance or misconduct, as opposed to a non-discriminatory reason.

An employer usually does not need to issue an official letter of termination of an individual’s employment, but it is advisable to document the termination in writing, including the reasons for termination. In the US, the EEOC Regulations require that all personnel/employment records be kept on file for at least one year.

2. Consider employment laws and legal protections.

Prior to termination, the employer must analyze the company’s policies and the specific contractual obligations with an individual employee, if applicable. Federal, State, and local laws/regulations must be observed, especially if the employee is a member of a Union, which may limit or guide the termination, due to the collective bargaining agreements.

This analysis will help determine the legal obligations and maintain regulatory compliance within the termination process.

3. Prepare for termination.

Establish a standard procedure for how the company terminates an employee. It is highly recommended to hold this mediation meeting in a private office or conference room. Do not hold this discussion in a public area. It is best to have two employer representatives in attendance (e.g., one HR representative and one hiring manager). Prepare what each member wants to say at the meeting and make any legal documents or notices available to provide to the employee, such as a termination of employment letter.

A termination letter or sometimes called a “closing” letter usually contains information about the effective termination date, the reason for the termination, information regarding unemployment benefits or severance pay (if applicable), and health coverage continuation, such as COBRA details.

4. Discuss the Termination with the employee.

Discuss the termination process with the employee in a respectful and professional manner, using clear and concise language. Provide them with the termination letter and all of the applicable supporting documentation. Collect their company property, give them their final paycheck (including earned or unused vacation or sick pay), and remind them of any legal obligations such as non-disclosure agreements. Finally, wish them well in their future endeavors.

How Often Should You Update Your App?

So, your mobile app is now built and available in the app stores. Users are downloading it, using it and you are receiving feedback from happy clients. But what’s next?

The journey has just begun! It is now time to think about maintenance for your app (if you haven’t already) and about the next versions (iterations).

But how often should you update your application and why?

Why Is It Important to Update Your App?

The app market is constantly evolving. The expectations of apps keep getting ratcheted higher and higher. New technologies are emerging and operating systems are being improved.

If you don’t want your app to appear tired, obsolete, or dead, you should take care to update it regularly. And, by the way, regular updates are a great way to keep users interested and engaged.

Here are the most common reasons why you should update your application:

#1 People love novelty:

People love new features in their apps so you should regularly offer your users interesting and helpful app updates. Plus, by updating your app, you have a great excuse to send pop-up notifications to show your users that you care about their requirements.

#2 Remove or replace everything that has lost relevance:

Mobile apps get outdated over time. This is inevitable due to the constant evolution of mobile tech. It’s important to select any old and unnecessary elements and remove or replace them with new, up to date features or information that meets the users’ needs.

#3 Date of the last update:

Users can always see when the application was last updated on Google Play or App Store. If your mobile app doesn’t have frequent updates it will lose credibility.

#4 Improvement of the user experience:

Improvements, based upon user feedback, mean that the app is always providing greater utility to the user. The app becomes more relevant, more engaging, and more useful. The more closely aligned the app is to audience requirements, the more it will be used and the more revenue it will generate.

#5 Increase Downloads:

Constant maintenance positively impacts the rating of the mobile app in the markets. This makes it easier for users to find and more likely to be downloaded.

Conclusion:

Whether you intend to make spontaneous changes based on market trends, scheduled updates, or both, it is important to have a strategic plan. Create an action plan for app updates, and ensure that you deliver on schedule. Having a plan is critical to keeping your app fresh and safe as you continue to make improvements.

Considering the speed at which the market evolves, there is no time for long, complicated processes in order to make app updates. Regular, incremental updates, based upon client-based intelligence work best.

At Charter Global, our team is highly skilled in mobile app development. We have a huge experience with long-term and successful projects. So, if you think it’s time to maintain and update your app, don’t hesitate to contact us for a free conversation with our experts!

5 Ways to Use Artificial intelligence (AI) Right Away for a Success Business in 2020

Artificial Intelligence or sometimes called “machine learning” is growing rapidly within many industries, due to the complex benefits associated with this new technology. From restructuring administrative activities to improving marketing campaigns, there are countless ways to increase AI productivity and efficiency.

Here are five reasons more than half of the employers are interested in artificial intelligence.

1. Learning and Development

Through AI, you can train more people and improve their learning experience. Gaps in knowledge can be identified and resolved efficiently through AI assessments and training (i.e., turning downtime into productive learning-time). Your team will be more confident in doing their jobs and more prepared than ever. Soon, you will see how a person in the organization grows and improves, which will motivate more people to embrace this learning opportunity

2. Automation of Decisions

Creating credibility is the key to successful AI implementation. AI makes expedited decisions based upon the established criteria and can free-up valuable time for your executive team. For example, if you do not have time to speak to every incoming request from your website, an AI Chatbot is able to accomplish the initial communication process and identify a filtered list. This will enable you to efficiently focus on the most qualified leads.

3. Pattern Recognition

Data analysis is enhanced by recognizing patterns within structured data. AI’s can make this process effective and efficient by analyzing items such as systems traffic data, CRM data, etc. The results of vital and classified business data analysis are key to the success of many business models and industries.

4. Virtual Assistance

Just as Alexa, Siri, and Google now act as assistants in people’s daily lives; all business owners need some kind of virtual help at their work. In addition to talking to home appliances, Virtual Assistants are taking over e-commerce platforms in purchases and sales. For example, Amazon has integrated Alexa into its platform, where users can search for products and make purchases.

5. Social Media Sentiment Analysis

The Social Media Listening tool picks brand and product references and connects them for you. Sentiment analysis provides feedback from your target audience and if they are expressing a positive, negative, or neutral feeling for your product or service. Imagine the impact this will have on Public Relations (PR) management. You will be able to assess important information quickly and take steps to mitigate any major risks/issues in nearly real-time. Sentiment analysis is a prime way that AI can help achieve business and marketing success in a variety of environments and industries.

Conclusion:

At the end of the day, everyone wants better results. Despite negative claims about artificial intelligence, it’s only logical to be receptive to it if it favors you. By the looks of it, bosses will have fewer things to worry about as their business will function better with artificial intelligence.

Effective Remote Onboarding for Highest retention rate during COVID-19 Pandemic

Many companies are growing to acknowledge that intentional and strategic onboarding is critical to new employees’ success, and it goes well beyond paperwork and procedure. Research has demonstrated that excellent onboarding pays off —

It can improve new employee retention by 82% and productivity by over 70%. But with many companies continuing remote work into the foreseeable future, now is the time to ensure that your remote onboarding processes have been successfully transferred and adapted for remote work.

One key characteristic of high-impact onboarding is an emphasis on people and company culture. However, one of the most prominent challenges of remote work is maintaining a strong sense of company culture and making up for the lack of in-person connections. When employees are being onboarded into a fully remote work environment, it is more critical than ever to equip them with the relationships, cultural understanding, and information they need for success.

Remote Onboarding has three objectives:

1. To inform
2. To welcome
3. To guide new employees.

By focusing on these goals, you can help ensure that your remote onboarding program is consistently effective. If these goals seem fundamental, they are because. The best way to create an effective remote onboarding experience is to start with a solid first impression.

At our organization, we do engage our new hires with engaging content like a short video on what they have to work for the next 1 year and what could be the expectations from the senior management and so on.

We believe that one way to engage learners is to use video, which can improve engagement rates when following these best practices:

https://www.charterglobal.com/effective-remote-onboarding/

We at charter global, always adopt the latest trends in sourcing our top-notch resources to place them with top companies and not just remote onboarding, we properly understand the current trends in every industry, technology & skills and move ahead.

How Artificial Intelligence in recruiting reduces unconscious bias in the workplace?

AI for recruiting is the application of artificial intelligence such as machine learning, natural language processing, and sentiment analysis to the recruitment function.

AI can reduce unconscious bias in two ways.

1. AI makes sourcing and screening decisions based on data points:

Recruiting AI sources and screens candidates by using large quantities of data. It combines these data points using algorithms to make predictions about who will be the best candidates. The human brain just can’t compete when processing information on this massive scale.

AI assesses these data points objectively – free from the assumptions, biases, and mental fatigue that humans are susceptible to.

A major advantage AI has over humans is its results can be tested and validated. An ideal candidate profile usually contains a list of skills, traits, and qualifications that people believe make up a successful employee. But oftentimes, those qualifications are never tested to see if they correlate with on-the-job performance.

AI can create a profile based on the actual qualifications of successful employees, which provides hard data that either validates or disconfirms beliefs about what to look for in candidates.

2. AI can be programmed to ignore demographic information about candidates:

Recruiting AI can be programmed to ignore demographic information about candidates such as gender, race, and age that have been shown to bias human decision making.

It can even be programmed to ignore details such as the names of schools attended and zip codes that can correlate with demographic-related information such as race and socioeconomic status.

This is how AI software in the financial services industry is used. Banks are required to ensure that their algorithms are not producing outcomes based on data correlated with protected demographic variables such as race and gender.

AI still requires a human touch to stop unconscious bias:

AI is trained to find patterns in previous behavior. That means that any human bias that may already be in your recruiting process – even if it’s unconscious – can be learned by AI.

Human oversight is still necessary to ensure the AI isn’t replicating existing biases or introducing new ones based on the data we give it.

Recruiting AI software can be tested for bias by using it to rank and grade candidates and then assessing the demographic breakdown of those candidates.

The great thing is if AI does expose a bias in your recruiting, this gives you an opportunity to act on it. Aided by AI, we can use our human judgment and expertise to decide how to address any biases and improve our processes.

6 Creative Ways to Test Mobile Apps before Launch

Today, there are approximately 7.7 billion people worldwide and there are 5.15 billion unique mobile users across the globe, according to the latest data from (GSMA) Global System for Mobile Communications Intelligence and this evaluation has seen a tremendous increase in the last 12 months or so since the break out of COVID-19.

This gives us reason to believe that these figures are tentative and yet to go beyond current expectations. For any App Development Company, this is good news and winning mobile apps are a challenge.

The need for the development of mobile apps has increased tremendously and surprisingly by the end of 2022, the demand for browsing through the internet may completely shift towards mobile instead of Laptop or Desktop.

When a developer designs an app for the end-user, he or she mainly focuses on two things:

1. User Retention
2. User Interface (UI)

In 2019, more than 200 billion applications were downloaded worldwide, but the retention rate was just 32%.

Thus the question arises, why is the user retention rate so low? The main hurdle is knowing how well the app has fulfilled the desire of the end-user.

Was the look and feel good? Are there any app glitches or are the features of the app fascinating? Getting feedback from customers is really hard. That’s why mobile apps require a systematic process of evaluation, testing, and development.

So, for every business, it’s high time to give a sanity check before entering into the mobile apps world.

Here are some quick creative ways on how mobile apps must be tested before launch.

Managing Remote Teams | Charter Global

Managing Remote Teams at work has gotten the new norm because of COVID-19. Most organizations intend to proceed with the WFH options even after governments permit us to re-visitation of work, for the wellbeing of the organization representatives.

While there are numerous advantages to virtual groups, numerous chiefs are worried about how to connect with representatives in a virtual workplace. On the off chance that you need to fabricate gainfully and influence distant groups, you have to draw in representatives.

Directors need to invest twofold amounts of energy to deal with a virtual group. The nuts and bolts of good administration are settling up clear objectives, running extraordinary gatherings, imparting obviously, and expanding the individual and aggregate quality of colleagues.

Here are some key things every manager has to look at

Discover the individual Mindsets of your virtual team:

As a chairman or administrator or pioneer, you must find the attitude of your workers. Is it accurate to say that they are thoughtful people or outgoing individuals? The best technique is to ensure the contemplative people are locked inappropriately and tuned in to in virtual meetings. During making far off group gatherings, focus on every member's levels, pivot every individual, and request their information.

Regardless of whether your representatives are not genuinely ready to go to office exercises, you have to discover ways for virtual workers to partake and encounter some aspect of the way of life.

Keep the communication in the flow:

The most significant boundaries to remote team engagement are the absence of cooperation and consistent correspondence. Focus on what you send and get. Voice, articulation, and feeling are frequently lost in email and other composed interchanges. Notwithstanding the specific situation, individuals will in general fill in the spaces, ensuring you are not simply conveying by means of email. Organize week by week or fortnightly video gatherings.

Constant Breaks in the Meetings:

On the off chance that you have a virtual gathering for over 2 hours, separating things is important. Allow everybody 5 minutes to take a restroom/water break. At the point when they return, have an easygoing talk for 5-10 minutes.

At the point when you set up your virtual gatherings, video/camera is an absolute necessity. Individuals feel more drawn in and if everybody can see each other it is a 'typical individual gathering'. You can perceive nonverbal signs, for example, gesturing, outward appearances, hand signals, and all different things that make alive and connected with correspondence.
